Hiring, budgets, and a lot more.
This section contains an overview of the policies, procedures, best practices, and most frequently asked questions for our human resources and accounting departments. The human resources and accounting departments are the two parts of the organization through which most of our financial resources flow. In both departments, it is extremely important that systems are created and maintained that accurately reflect the utilization of our people and money.
The NPM HR department is responsible for overseeing the hiring process, administering benefits, and managing the salaries and benefits budget. On a day-to-day basis, we do anything from orienting new hires to talking with insurance companies to answering general benefits questions. Our goal is to assist employees with problems or questions regarding hiring or insurance so that they can focus on their ministry responsibilities.
The accounting department consists of accounts receivable personnel whose primary responsibility is to deposit and record donations, accounts payable personnel who pay the bills, and a general accountant who combines it all to produce monthly financial statements. Our financial statements are prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. We use the accrual method as our basis of accounting. Consequently, revenues are recognized when earned, and expenses are recognized when incurred.
