North Point Ministries currently uses two in-house curricula. One is geared specifically to those who are separated and one toward those who are already divorced. Topics covered include managing emotions, making wise decisions, addressing disappointment with God, the scriptural truth about divorce, owning your part, forgiveness, and preparing for your future.

While the in-house curricula are not available for circulation, there are several off-the- shelf ministries like Divorce Care that we have used in the past with great success. Divorce Care offers a great deal of useful information on their website, their curriculum is widely used, and they offer great resources for a start-up ministry. They also offer a devotional email subscription that is highly recommended by our leaders. Depending on your audience, some of the videos may seem a little outdated, but with proper set-up from leaders, this can be overcome. The content is quite good.

As you are building your program, keep in mind that participants in these groups are not likely to do much, if any, reading/homework outside of group. The “ask” you make of participants in this regard should be minimal.
