Every marriage has room to grow, and we want to make it as easy as possible for participants to be intentional about investing in their marriages by offering a Short-Term Group called Thrive. Groups meet in homes for eight weeks and have 8–12 participants as well as a leader couple. Each group covers topics such as communication, conflict, forgiveness, and the effect your past has on your marriage. These groups are designed to help participants better understand God’s plan for their marriages and discover new insights about their relationship with their spouses.

The Thrive curriculum is currently not available for circulation, but there are many great resources available to help you grow your marriage ministry. In the past, we have offered a number of marriage groups using the Staying in Love message series. The Enrich Assessment also provides a strength and growth report as well as exercises for each section of the report. Don’t be afraid to test different formats or curricula to see what works best to create a ministry unique to your church.

Leaders

One big factor that can determine the success of a marriage ministry is the quality of the leaders. To create the right environment, skilled group leaders must be willing to be open and vulnerable while encouraging others.

Qualifications:

  • You have a personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • You recognize the Bible as the authority for your life.

  • You have been married for at least four years.

  • You have the time, emotional capacity, and moral discernment to lead a group.

If a couple meets the above requirements, they will fill out a leader application, complete the Enrich Inventory, interview with a staff member, and apprentice with an experienced leader couple. Leader couples are also asked to attend training events throughout the year to expand their knowledge base and grow in their own marriages.
