Canopy Events are fun, social in nature, and give participants an opportunity to invite their single friends. They also typically include a service or giving-back component. Events are open to single adults from all seven of our Atlanta-area churches, single adults from other churches, and the unchurched.
Canopy Serves is an annual day of service that takes place each April. Approximately 900 singles come together to donate their time to 30+ service projects benefiting local nonprofits, the city of Atlanta, and Atlanta Public Schools.
Canopy Talks are small-venue, off-site events where we invite single adults to participate in conversations worth having. Unlike Canopy Stages, this content is more secular in nature and does not feature a time of worship.
Canopy Christmas kicks off the holiday season with over 1,000 singles dancing the night away in their holiday best. It is held the first Sunday in December and includes a live band, photo booth, desserts, coffee, and a toy drive for local kids.

What do you charge as a registration fee?
The registration fee varies per event. Canopy Serves has a $25 registration fee that covers the participant’s breakfast, snacks, and a T-shirt and helps supplement the supply budget for various projects. The Canopy Talks fee varies depending upon the venue and content. The Canopy Christmas fee is typically $30–$35, which covers hors d'oeuvres, dessert, live entertainment, and more. We do waive the registration fee for select participants who are experiencing financial need.
How do you encourage “invest and invite”?
Canopy Events are great “invest and invite” opportunities because they are purely social in nature. It is significantly less intimidating to invite unchurched friends to an outside venue, a dance party, or a service day than it is to invite them to a church service or Bible study. In addition, we occasionally offer early-bird or discounted tickets to first-time guests. Finally, we strive for a level of excellence in our programming and execution that naturally encourages people to invite their friends.
How do you find volunteers for your events?
Each summer, we launch the Canopy Volunteer Community. Approximately 75–100 volunteers commit to serve regularly throughout the next year. They act as greeters, check-in teams, networkers, set-up and teardown teams, and more. Volunteers commit to serve a minimum of four times during the year. In exchange, they receive a Canopy T-shirt, swag, and free meals (when applicable) during their shifts.
