General Singles FAQs

1. How do you attract singles to your church?

We do everything we can to communicate that we value not only this season of life, but those who are in it. At the highest level in the organization, we decided to make sure single adults feel like we believe God has a purpose for them right where they are and that there is a place for them in our church. We have invested lots of time, energy, and resources in creating a strategy and environments that are specifically designed to be appealing, engaging, and helpful for single adults.

2. How do you attract healthy singles?

We program our events and Fusion gatherings with the sharpest single professionals in mind. We also try very hard to protect our environments from people who are engaging in purposes other than what these environments are designed to do . . . to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We leverage the social felt need of single adults without allowing it to get us off mission.

3. What is the purpose of your singles events?

Our singles events are the foyers in our strategy, which is designed specifically with guests in mind. It is often the first step for many singles into our singles community and for some, their first exposure to our church. Each of our three primary events (do.justice, the Labor Day Retreat, and the Christmas Event) serves as a unique opportunity for our singles community to gather in a social environment and to invite friends from outside our community.

4. What is the purpose of Fusion?

Fusion is the living room in our strategy, which is designed to help people make friends. It is not the final destination, but it is often the first step toward connection into community. The goal is to attract people who are coming to our church (but who are not connected) and to help them develop authentic friendships with people in whom they are most likely to join a small group.
