On January 3rd we started the new year with a bang! Especially in the TenBefore. Nathan Boyd (one of our amazing interns) built a project in After Effects that included a little fireworks! Best thing about it is we can make future changes with ease so when we want to celebrate winter or spring we can do it with ease. I absolutely love it when we can highlight something that is a common emotion, like New Year’s, for everyone in the audience. For now, check out the 1st TenBefore of 2010 plus Trip and Tyler’s new years REVOLUTIONS. Hope you had a great start to 2010.

Did you guys build the TenBefore opening animation entirely in After Effects using a 3D plugin like Zaxwerks or did you do part of it in Cinema 4D and then integrate into AE for finishing touches like the fireworks? Great stuff!

Hey Kyle -
Intro was built in Cinema 4D and then yes integrated with After Effects. All fireworks were done in After Effects and in a way so that when we want to make a change for the future, we can just replace elements in the layers rather than rebuild. Thanks for hanging at the blog.

Awesome stuff, guys.
I’ve been wanting to do something like this for a long time, but we don’t really have the manpower for that at our church. I was wondering a few things… if you can reply that would be super helpful.
1) How does the congregation respond to these? Return on investment?
2) How much time do you put in weekly on this?
3) Do you “recycle” elements or make pieces that can be reused?
4) Do you alternate hosts or change up the overall flow of the videos?
By the way, I love the Trip & Tyler piece on this, as well as the Go Global promo.
You guys always inspire.
Thanks!
