Lets talk about Andy Stanley in Espanol. No joke. In June of 2008, with much time, money, research, and most importantly, the interest to reach our Spanish speaking community, North Point launched a Spanish speaking service, called North Point en Espanol. As you can imagine there were many people and many hours involved in making this not only a reality, but making it relevant to the Spanish culture on a regular basis. It ran for 10 months before sadly coming to an end in March of 2009, but if even one life was changed from it, I consider it worth it. Through the process, we have learned quite a bit and now have some exportable resources that will live on. Here is a brief look at the process it took for us to get the Spanish sermons translated:

-Send Quick Time files with time code filter to Spanish Link, then to Blue 105
-Scripture or CG would be translated by Spanish Link and sent back to Media
-Translations would be added into Keynote and then exported out
-Exported Keynote slides would then be added to video over the original CG in FCP
-Blue 105 would chop up audio to around 2 minute segments and then they would do multiple takes to choose the best one with regards to timing and inflections
-Audio files would be pieced together to create one single audio file and sent back to Spanish Link
-Spanish Link would review audio for accuracy
-Once the final audio had been approved, it would be sent back to Media
-Spanish audio would be synced up with the English
-Title packages would also be translated into Spanish by Spanish Link
-Spanish title packages would be added in and finally printed to tape
-After a series we would create a DVD

I wanted to write this post because we just finished making the final Spanish DVD from an earlier series here at North Point called “Pause”. Below is the DVD menu intro to “Pausa” (the Spanish title) and a short clip of what you would have experienced had you sat in on the North Point en Espanol service.
