A Quick Media Tour

Church, Technology, Work

Hey everyone. Thought you might like to see a quick photo tour of where we work.
Let me first say, our Media Department is EXTREMELY BLESSED with technology and workspace at North Point. We’re blessed with geniuses like Brendon Petty, who designed our space, along with Micah Stevens & Ryan Clevenger, who maintain our systems so we can work day-to-day.
We haven’t been in this space forever, it’s only 1 year old. We started with 1 edit suite & Adobe Premiere. It took years of growing pains to finally see the need for an expanded area for Media to live & grow. From Baptism Testimonies to Web Streams to TenBefore to Title Packages to Resources to TV shows, we have a growing responsibility to support our campuses, partners, & TV networks to help lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ through various mediums.
The space you are about to see helps us do our jobs with EXCELLENCE everyday we walk in the door.

    This is awesome! Thanks!

I’d love to see a post what week-to-week activity looks like around that place. How does a project go from conception to distribution. How specialized is your staff? What do their typical weeks look like? Is everyone working on the same project, or are there teams for separate projects?

Hey, just a quick question for you all: What type of file management system do you use? An NAS of some sort? Is that fast enough for editing video, or do you move copies of files to local hard drives for editing?

We’re expanding our media department and will now have multiple people needing access to the same video files. So, I’m looking for the best solution.

Cool space. I like the extra large starbucks cup in #6 :)

  8. Rachael Says:

Sort of off topic but what kind of project management system, if any, do you use? We’re trying to help our interdepartmental communication and up the ante on our productivity internally. Any suggestions?

    Bill,
Apple XSAN2 system with VTrak RAID servers
(definitely need to consult your I.T. guy first as maintainance is crucial and they must understand the system and be trained)
We’re blessed to have smart people around us.
