ooo, interesting that you put the RED One up there, hmmm - niiiice. The camera I dream about every day.

I use a Panasonic AG-DVX100BE because that was the most versatile camera I could afford. Right now I would go with a Panasonic HVX200A (204AE in this country) one of those cameras you can just pick up and go - film in any situation as well as edit and output most reasonable formats.

The RED One could be the most versatile in terms of format for all the available proxies that it produces, but I hear that it requires the same attention as film for setup and lighting.

I use the Canon XH A1 for just about everything I shoot. But then again, I’m on a budget. I’d go for a camera with larger image sensors if I could!

I love the versatility that I get shooting with the Sony EX3.

With the 1/2 chips you get decent light sensitivity and its hard to beat the high res viewfinder. Even in the stock configuration I feel like I can walk into almost any scenario and shoot something decent.

The XDCAM codec is great. I can get about 90 minutes without downloading my cards to a computer. That’s only an 8GB and 16GB card in the camera.

The only drawback that I have is that it doesn’t balance on your shoulder like a big body camera, however since its smaller we’re able to use it at times that a bigger camera would be cumbersome.

Phillip the 100B Is still an awesome camera, that’s actually what we use on stage for roaming camera. Curious is South Africa PAL or NTSC, I assume PAL. I love the HVX200. Great camera!!! Bill, haven’t used XH A1 (I started video using GL2- & XL-1). Canon makes a great product too. Bradley, we shot a “short-film” style video with Andy using EX3, called “Footnote.” It was our Christmas special. Loved shooting with that too. Great picture & Compression (Codec seemed a little tricky while editing)

At my church we are limited to a Panasonic GS300 handicam unfortunately! It has an awful mic and tiny sensors, but we get by :)

We are looking at upgrading to a pro camera soon, do any of you have any opinion on Panasonic HMC150 for shooting Church TV, sermon illustrations and recording sermons, baptisms and the like? My attraction to it is that it shoots HD, is within our price range (just!) and shoots to SD card which should save time in our workflow!

We use the Panasonic HPX-170. It’s just like the HVX200, but has no tape deck. It’s a great, versatile camera, and sometimes we throw an M2 lens adapter on the front to get some really great light sensitivity and a shallow depth of field. I am personally eying the Canon EOS 7D for my family pics/video.
