Church, Creativity, Design, Missions

All right, it’s my first post so I’m feeling the pressure to make this a good one.  This past year I have had the pleasure to produce a series of promotional spots with our missions department Global X.  Our goal on this project was two fold, first of all we wanted to create a brand and style that was unique to what Global X was all about and secondly to inform our audience with stories not just facts.  To this end we decided that a more cinematic visual style and a documentary style for sound design were keys to make these videos a bit more immersive.  It was our desire that these stories of God’s work in our world be experienced.

This first video is centered on one of our strategic partners in Moldova.  I think you will sense right away that the mood and tone of this country set a great backdrop for what is happening at this partnership.

This second video is about Cambodia.  Now North Point doesn’t have a partnership with a particular church plant here but we have been actively involved with several orphanages in that country supplying humanitarian relief and just showing God’s love to these amazing kids.  I still am awed by the overwhelming joy that these children show in the face of such extreme poverty.

Lastly we visited the African country of Kenya and in particular the Samburu tribe.  The vastness of this country is nearly impossible to grasp although we gave our best stab at it.

I hope you enjoy these little snippets about Global X.  This project is nothing without these amazing artists that I collaborated with:
Jon Acuff - Writing
Ryan Shove - Voice Over and Camera for Moldova
Josh McKague - Camera for Cambodia and Kenya
Elliott Moon - Original Music
Lane Johnson - Sound design

    David,

Your team has done an amazing job - we have done some things like this regarding our mission program (I think that your Cambodia video was the impetus for that) and I just wanted to tell you way to go - they strike a great tone while informing and inspiring.

    Loved every second of them!

    Evan
