Creativity, Design, Motion Graphics

Here’s a side of what we do that you may not normally see, unless you’ve got some North Point DVD’s lying around that you got from our Resources department.  Ryan and I get to focus a good bit of our energy on DVD content creation, which includes designing menus like those seen below.  Rather than relying on stock templates to lay out the information, we try to brand everything to look and feel like the series.  This is kind of an art of adaptation, since the designs themselves have already established and our team is just trying to find new creative ways of using them in a DVD environment.  Our hope is that the menus in some small way enhance the viewer’s experience, as well as providing them with a fun lead-in that sets them up for the series.  Here are a couple that Matt designed and one that I designed:

Nice work! I know some people put most of their work into the video production for live services but it’s nice to see that you keep your standards high for DVD content as well. Very nicely done.

Very impressive. My favorite is “the letters to the president”

I bought the “He’s Still Got The Whole World In His Hands” DVD while at the Drive Conference, and the first thing I noticed was the professional quality of the DVD menu. It really makes a great first impression, which is important becasue when people buy NPCC resources and share them with friends, it’s your hard work that makes that good impression. And that helps open doors and hearts. So keep it up! Good job!

What programs do you use to design the dvd menus?
