Long story short, the title package got changed the day before Drive. They were originally three minutes in length and ultimately landed at 47 seconds. Amber Blossom produced and Ryan Shove shot the footage. The concept was to do a different type of “man on the street”. If you have checked out 50 people, 1 question you’ll know what I mean. We asked where are you now in life, where do you want to go in life, and how do you want to get there. After putting it all together, the decision was made to not use it for Drive ‘09. I am SURE we will use it else-where in a service.
So instead, we took Ryan’s b-roll footage, found some different music and put together a VERY different piece than the original. Ryan is our video director at our Browns Bridge Campus and an AMAZING DP/videographer. He used a 35mm attachment to his Sony PMW-EX3 to get the shots.
After we decided not to use the original video, the piece was put together as a transition to Andy. We did some quick motion tracking in After effects on the text and ended it with a completely different application of the DRIVE logo than we had all conference long. After all was said and done, I was really happy with the way it turned out.

The footage is sick! What 35mm attachment did you use on the PMW-EX3? Did you do any color processing in AE to get that overexposed film look?

great b-roll, it works
makes me wonder about trying to get to complicated, when u can get great content by just filming stuff.

Absolutely. I was shooting with an EOS 5D Mark II, and I did have some difficulty with white balance part of the time. And I was stuck in one location (my seat). But other than that, I’m really happy with how they turned out.
I’ll zip them up, upload them to my Web server, and send Brad a link. Feel free to use them however you want to!

Love how God has gifted you guys to create such incredible visual pieces. I’m involved in a church plant working with video. Where do you guys generally get your audio background music clips? I currently use Final Cut 4, and didn’t know if it was Apple loops or somewhere else. Do you have recommendations for churches on limited budgets for places to get background music for clips? Thanks.

Roughly how much is it to use/purchase a song for your videos? I am checking out firstcom and don’t see any prices. Thx.
