“TOGETHER” Branding (Strategic Service Sunday)

Concept:  To have a line connecting all the ministries logos to form ONE large TOGETHER… showing how it’s all interconnected with our volunteers that make church happen. Here is a snapshot of Sunday’s bulletin:

The title “Together” came straight from Andy’s notes.  Tagline was “We Create something extraordinary.” Green/White was a nice color pallete look I was going for that I’ve seen lately, fresh feel.  Originally the look was a solid green, with clean white modern text.  A simple layout.  Mike had the thought of having an artist hand draw ministry logos which got the wheels turning to where we landed.  After I saw the new “Green” Macbook Pro commercials, with the sketch look, i thought it’d be a nice look to have that hand-drawn feel here… plus i like to doodle.  We hired out all the logos to be sketched and i sketched around some lines in Photoshop with a Wacom Tablet, and found a rockin’ font “Sketch Rockwell” which was what I had in my head to turn the once clean, into now hand-drawn.  Joe Goode sketched the logos, we got them back and they tied in perfect to Look/Feel.  Mike added to the hand drawn by making background feel like crumpled paper & added notecards and “dirtied” it up.  It was a team effort bouncing ideas off each other to land where we did.

Simple concept.
Original thoughts “Cinematic” , “Time-lapse”, leads to building “B-roll”
Show the church vacant & empty.  It’s just a building without our volunteers here.
Julie Arnold, our SPD Direction wrote a script to steer vision of this.

From desolate to energetic, volunteers bring life to our church and we couldn’t make it happen without their dedication to our ministry areas. They are the ones creating our “irresistible” environments.  This was a celebration & also to setup Andy for the need we have in different areas.

Originally we pushed away from 3 unique Title Packs for each campus because of the workload it would require, but with great Producers like Dave to wrangler 3 freelance shooters, we were able to cover 3 campus shoots on 1 sunday (Because we needed an active morning.  I used all new and some archived footage I had… It allowed me to create a template sequence and pretty much replace campus specific shots once I had my NPCC sequence complete.  In the end, 3 unique title packs were the way to go to highlight each campus specifically.  Above is North Point’s version.

We tried a V.O. (voiceover), but found simple graphical statements were more dynamic in this case, and letting our audience read versus hearing it.Graphics also helped the front stay “empty” feeling and uninterrupted.
