This year you will have the opportunity to share a powerful message with hundreds and hundreds of children. In 2013, God will use you to encourage parents to re-engage with their kids. You have a chance to help children take a step in their faith and to help families grow stronger. This is an important job and I think you should be the best.
You can read Part 1 HERE.
Here are a few things that will make you the best:
5. Take action.
There are some risks you need to take this year. Some new things you need to try. You won’t be the best at these things right away. But you’ll learn something new and you’ll get better. Don’t be afraid. When you know in your gut it’s time to change … then change.
6. Listen to what God is telling you.
I’ve been loving the song “Speak to Me” on the Here & Now CD. It’s so good and has been the cry of my prayers. Are you listening to God’s leading in your life? If you want to be better this year, make sure you are quiet. Make sure you are listening—and obedient.
7. Spend Time on the Message.
Sometimes we get caught up in all the logistics that go along with children’s ministry, and we forget one of the most important reasons that we’re there in the first place. The message. Truth. Is it clear? Is it fun? Will they remember? Do kids know how to apply it? The message has the power to change lives. It deserves your attention.
8. Work hard.
I work with a great team of people. They get a TON of work done, and they deliver excellence week after week. Here’s what I notice about them. They get there early. They go the extra mile. They don’t stop until they get it right. They don’t give up when it gets hard. No job is beneath them. Want to be the best? Roll up your sleeves and make stuff happen.
You’ve been called to one of the most important ministries. I would argue that it’s THE most important ministry. It’s a calling that will lead the next generation to Christ. Don’t take it lightly. Be the best!
