What are some successful ideas you’ve used to train student volunteers?

Students like to be treated like adults when it comes to serving. We always train our students right alongside our adults and have the same high expectations of them.

A few weeks ago, we decided to do something different and invite student volunteers to a special event so that we could honor them and invest in them. High school students make up a large part of our volunteer workforce and we wanted to let them know we valued them.

This event was mostly about gratitude and encouragement, but we had a couple of issues that kept popping up that were common to our students. A three-point outline or a 30-minute lecture would never do, so we knew that we needed to come up with a unique approach.
