Our mission is to guide children to put their faith in Jesus, and to teach them who God is and how He wants them to live. But we don’t ever want to take parents out of the driver’s seat when it comes to their child trusting Christ.
That’s why we created a simple, 30-minute presentation of the gospel based on John 3:16. We offer this event on Sunday
afternoons several times a year. Kids and parents attend together so we can give parents all the tools they need to lead their child to Christ. This event celebrates a child’s relationship with God; but we don’t want parents to miss out on this important decision.
The presentation is based on four clear points taken from John 3:16.
God loved, God gave, we believe and we receive.
At the end of the presentation, we send the parents home with a homework packet that reviews the four key points. Then we ask parents to let us know if their child has made a decision to trust Christ and is ready to move forward with baptism. But here’s what’s important to remember. Include the parents. That means parents who are believers and parents who are unbelievers. Think about it. If you’re a parent who has trusted Christ as Savior, you want to be there when your child makes that same decision. If you’re not a believer, then this might be the place where you hear the gospel in a clear way for the first time too. That means you have the potential to lead a child and his parents to Christ.
When a child decides to trust Christ as Savior, we want to make sure we celebrate that decision in a significant way.
We would love to hear how you present the gospel to kids at your church!
