Big Idea of Hope

Last month at KidStuf Live we brought the fire with a hit show we revamped from two years ago.  We call it the “Shadrach Musical,” and we tell the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego through rewritten lyrics of modern songs and at the 022endwe use projected flames and shadows to show the boys surviving the fire and you see a CG angel stand behind them while we sing Avril Lavigne’s, “Keep holding on.” It was definitely a goose bumps kind of show and in light of our economic times, a message of HOPE hit home with all of us.

One of the coolest things we stumbled onto this month was that Andy was also doing a series on HOPE at the same time.  He actually launched a week ahead of us and taught from our memory verse, Romans 8:28.  So, when we launched the Big Idea in KidStuf and UpStreet the very next week – both parents and kids were dialed in together in a much deeper way than we could have planned.  Now we didn’t walk out wanting to change all of our curriculum content to forever match up with the main service, but for this one time, it was really cool to see how God decided to work all things together for the good of our families.
